Green Tea Infused Margarita: Tea Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients:

Green Tea:

  • 1 green tea bag (or 1 teaspoon loose green tea)
  • 1cup hot water

Margarita:

  • 2 oz (60 ml) tequila
  • 1 oz (30 ml) green tea (chilled)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Cointreau or Triple Sec
    • Note: If you’re aiming for a simple, sweeter cocktail, go with Triple Sec. If you want a more refined and complex margarita, Cointreau is the way to go.
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) agave syrup or simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes

Garnish:

  • Lime wedge
  • Salt for rimming the glass
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Make the Green Tea: Brew the green tea by steeping the tea bag or loose tea in 1 cup of hot water for 2-3 minutes. Remove the tea bag or strain the tea, and allow it to cool completely. You can speed up the cooling process by placing it in the refrigerator.
  2. Prepare the Glass: Run a lime wedge around the rim of a glass, then dip the rim into salt to coat it.
  3. Mix the Margarita: In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, chilled green tea, lime juice, Cointreau (or Triple Sec), and agave syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well-chilled.
  4. Serve: Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice.
  5. Garnish: Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of fresh mint if desired.
