Green Tea Recipes: Mix It Up

Love green tea, but getting bored of just drink warm cup after warm cup? Well there are tons of recipes and different variations you can try with different teas. There are even green tea variations on baked goods, like cheese cake and cupcakes. The possibilities are really endless.

One thing you can do, is add different flavors to your standard green tea. One recipe, called “Green tea berry delight” off of all recipes.com, calls for simply pouring green tea over frozen fruit. In this instance, it calls for a 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries and 4 frozen strawberries. You put the fruit at the bottom of a tall glass and pour 2 cups of iced green tea over the fruit. Together it makes a refreshing fruity drink full of antioxidants.

Another twist on the beverage is making , another recipe from the website, “Sparkling Green Tea Lemonade”. To make you need 2 cups of hot water, 2 (3 g) bags of green tea, 3 tablespoons of white sugar, 2 cups chilled seltzer water, 2 teaspoons of lime juice, and one sliced lime.  To make after brewing the green tea for 5 minutes in a pitcher, take the tea bags out and then stir the sugar into the tea until completely dissolved. Chill the tea in the refrigerator for 35 minutes. Take it out and pour the seltzer water and lime juice into the pitcher. You can also put the slices of lime in with the pitcher.  Now you have some deliciously fizzy green tea.
