What are the side effects of Black Bone Rattan?
Answer by: Zhang Tianpeng, Head of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Jixi City People’s Hospital
The main side effects of Black Bone Rattan tea is its relatively strong ‘coldness’. Therefore, if overconsumed, it can easily cause discomfort in the digestive tract, especially nausea, vomiting and even diarrhea in patients.
When you suffer from diarrhea after use, it’s important to immediately stop the use. Long-term application can cause diarrhea to become chronic, which is harmful to the body.
Black Bone Rattan also affects other organs of the human body. For example, it can inhibit the secretion of uric acid and cause gout, and can also cause joint pain in the human body. This may sound strange, as the herb is also used to threat joint pain. Whether or not the herb is effective in treating rheumatism, depends on the patients specific conditions. If the pain is caused mainly by to much heat and inflammation, Black Bone Rattan can be highly effective when used in the right amounts. When joint pain is caused by severe coldness. Black Bone Rattan will make the situation worse.
Thus, Black Bone Rattan is not suitable for everyone as a health product. It is best to apply it under the guidance of professionals. I personally do not recommend it as a long-term drink. Although it has certain effects, the side effects are also great. This point cannot be ignored.
